Daikin Announces Ultra-Low Permeation Fuel Hose Using Fluoroplastic Barrier
- Jan 3, 2011
USA -- Daikin America and Fluid Routing Solutions (FRS) announced a newly developed next-generation flexible fuel hose with a 6x improvement in permeation performance over FRS's current product offerings. The next-generation fuel hose utilizes a new fluoroplastic barrier technology, supplied by Daikin, which provides the proper combination of ultra-low permeation and good flexibility to yield a fuel hose with excellent sealability and formability. This effort is in response to CARB, EPA, and the automotive industry's continuous push for improved products to reduce fuel permeation/evaporative emissions.
Fluid Routing Solutions has successfully manufactured next-generation hose into multiple sizes and a number of formed hose geometries which are now available for customer evaluation. Permeation testing was conducted in alcohol-based fuels at elevated temperatures.
