Impact modifier
Improve the impact strength or shock resistance of plastics. This operation is also called toughening by dispersion of rubbers into a brittle matrix. Typical impact test are: Falling dart test, IZOD, CHARPY.

There are different types of impact: General purpose toughness, super toughness, low temperature impact.
Main families of impact modifiers and toughners are: MBS, Acrylic Impact modifiers, AIM, EPDM, Flexibilizers, SBS, SBC, Functional polyolefins, EVA.
