Plastic compounding
This operation consists in preparing plastic formulations by blending in a molten state polymers with additives and pigments. Additive dispersion is a critical step combining distributive mixing and dispersive mixing. Twin screw extruders are well known compounders as well as internal mixers and co-kneaders.
Plastic compounding: For co-rotative twin screw extruders, screw design, torque, melt temperature is very important.
