Additive added into a plastic in order to improve its mechanical performances such as: young modulus, flexural modulus, stiffness, impact resistance, strength, stress at break, toughness, creep resistance.
Plastic Reinforcer: heat resistance
Reinforcers also increase heat resistance like vicat or HDT. These additives are also called Extenders, stiffeners, HDT enhancers.

Examples of reinforcers are fillers or fibres like: talc, calcium carbonate, mica, kaolin, wollastonite, silica, carbon black, glass fibres, carbon fibers, metallic powder, barium sulphate, glass spheres, glass hollow spheres, wood flour.
