Polymer stabilizer

Polymer stabilizer
Organic, Mineral or Organo-metallic substance added into a polymer in order to prevent or to protect it from degradation such as oxidation, hydrolysis, heat degradation, UV light, E-beam, X ray, sterilization, heat degradation

Polymer stabilizer: Degradation
Degradation generally causes: yellowing, discoloration, chalking, hazing, whitening, crazing, cracking

Polymer stabilizer: Typicals stabilizers
Typical stabilizers are phenolic antioxidants, amine antioxidants, phosphites, Benzotriazole, benzophenone, HALS, UV stabilizers, UV absorbers, Tin stabilizers, Heat stabilizers, Lead stabilizers, Ca/Zn stabilizers, PVC stabilizers. The quality of a UV stabilizer can be translated in Light Fatness or weather fastness.
