Adjustment of Reactivity

Two key elements to consider during the development of a new Sioplas or Monosil process are:

1. The crosslinking kinetic which need to be adpated to residence time in the extruder, the curing conditions and the thickness of the parts
2. The performance of the final parts depend strongly on the polyethylene grade used and its final degree of Crosslinking.

Silane technology offers great flexibility in reactivity and performance adjustment

As Silane crosslinking technology always requires the combination Vinylsilane-Peroxide-Catalyst, the reactivity of the system and the final properties of the final product can be easily adapted to any process by ajusting the :

Nature and concentration of the vinylsilane (VTMOS, VTEOS or silane mixtures)
Nature and concentration of the organic peroxide
Nature and concentration of the condensation catalyst
Processing conditions and wall thickness of the extruded profile
