Why use Metal Hydroxides?

Metal hydroxides are the most commonly used family of Halogen Free Flame Retardants. These mineral compounds are used in polyolefins, TPE, PVC, rubbers, thermosets and can also be used in some engineering polymers (such as polyamide). Aluminium trihydroxide (ATH) is selected when processing temperature is under 200?. When processing temperature exceeds 200°C, Magnesium dihydroxide (MDH) is then required.

ATH and MDH are the FR of Choice for PVC Replacement Applications with the Best Cost/Performance Balance
